Crochet Potholder Materials

The crochet potholder is crocheted double stranded (two yarns with different colors held together) with black and natural white yarns. You can also use other cotton yarns that are a bit thicker than usual!

Crochet Potholder Pattern Instructions

Round 1. Do a magic loop and insert 8 single crochet (sc) stitches into the loop. Pull the tail end of the yarn and tighten the loop. Continue crocheting the next round from the first single crochet stitch onwards.

Round 2. Insert 2 single crochet (sc) stitches to each stitch in the round.

Round 3. *Insert 2 sc stitches to the first stitch and then 1 sc to the second stitch.* Repeat * until you reach the first stitch.

Round 4. *Insert 2 sc stitches to the first stitch and then 1 sc to the second stitch and 1 sc to the third stitch.* Repeat * until you reach the first stitch.

Round 5. *Insert 2 sc stitches to the first stitch and then 1 sc to the second stitch, 1 sc to the third stitch and 1 sc to the fourth stitch.* Repeat * until you reach the first stitch.

Round 6. *Insert 2 sc stitches to the first stitch and then 1 sc to the second stitch, 1 sc to the third stitch, 1 sc to the fourth stitch and 1 sc to the fifth stitch.* Repeat * until you reach the first stitch.

Once ready, close the round with a slip stitch and weave in the ends. You can crochet a bigger potholder by adding one single crochet stitch to the repeat * period of previous round.
