Raffia Crochet Basket Pattern
Step 1. Do a magic loop and insert 8 single crochet (sc) stitches into the loop. Pull the tail end of the yarn.
Step 2. From now on, crochet around Paulina Chunky Twine yarn. Leave ~5 cm long tail before crocheting. Insert 2 single crochet (sc) stitches to each stitch in the round.
Step 3. *Insert 2 sc stitches to the first stitch and then 1 sc to the second stitch.* Repeat * until you reach the first stitch.
Step 4. *Insert 2 sc stitches to the first stitch and then 1 sc to the second stitch and 1 sc to the third stitch.* Repeat * until you reach the first stitch.
Step 5. Continue like this so that you add 1 sc more in each round. So in the last round you insert 2 sc stitches to the first stitch and 8 sc stitches to 8 stitches. Repeat this until you reach the first stitch.
Step 6. Start crocheting the edge of the basket: crochet one row so that you insert 1 sc stitch through the back loop to every stitch.
Step 7. Crochet now through both loops. Insert 1 sc stitch to each stitch. Crochet a total of 12-13 rounds, depending how much yarn there is left.
Step 8. When you’ve crocheted the last round cut the chunky twine yarn and leave a ~10 cm long tail. Set the tail two-folded and hide it by crocheting single stitches around it. Finish the round with two slip stitches, cut the raffia yarn and weave in the tail.
FINISHED!
